The Aliens comic book, long – running series of comic books published by Alien franchise-based publishing company named Dark Horse Comics, it published alien-based comics for over 30 years, and company produced a number of limited series, which includes one-shots and short stories, starting with a comic named Aliens: Outbreak in 1988. In 2019, 20th Century Fox and Walt Disney Company purchased the license to produced Alien comics shifted to Marvel Comics, after selling off the license Dark Horse’s relation with franchise came to an end.

When Dark Horse owned the franchise of Aliens comics, it published total 72 different alien stories, excluding various collected editions, reprints and non-canon crossover comics, which includes the titular Alien species from other franchises. the Alien line is the longest running comics of Dark Horse.

The Alien comic line started in 1988, it was published as immediate continuation of the story after James Cameron’s Aliens, it was first two series of the comics, were originally titled as Aliens: Book one and Aliens: Book two, which features the characters of Corporal, Hincks and Newt as the main characters of the comic, wherein in the third series named Aliens: Earth War, furthermore reintroduced Alien – franchise Heroine Ellen Ripley.

After the release of film Alien in 1992, which included main characters from comics like Hicks, Newt and Ripley, it is shown that all of them died on Fiorina “Fury” 161, Dark Horse brought some changes in initial Alien comics to make it relevant and connecting for readers, they changed the name and identities of main characters like Hicks became Wicks, Newt became Billie and the heroine of comic Ripley became a synthetic version of herself. The stories of comics were renamed in reprint editions to their current names: Aliens: Outbreak, Aliens: Nightmare Asylum and Aliens: Female War.

He is sergeant David Arthur also called Davey Wilks, was a member of United States Colonial Marine Corps, in the comic, he is one of the members who of deployed to Rim, they were deployed to investigate the sudden cut in the contact with colony there. he is one of the main key characters of the comic.


Billie was the youngest survivor of a Xenomorph invasion on the colony world of Rim. She was recused by the Corporal Wilks, who was the last surviving member of his Colonial Marine team, she was brought to Earth, just to incorporate into a system due to her experiences with the creatures, she is also one of the main characters of the Aliens comes, she fought to get rid of Aliens from the Earth with other members of the team.


Ellen Ripley, was lieutenant and a civilian adviser to the United States Colonial Marine Corps and played very influential role in human encounters with the species Xenomorph XX121. After the filmed released her character in the comic changed because she died in the Alien film, her advanced synthetic duplicate was introduced in the comic.
